Ancient Craft of Basket Weaving I

Join skilled craftsman Glenn Wienke, who will share his passion and skills on the ancient craft of basket weaving.  Register for this two-session workshop, which is appropriate for beginners as well as more experienced basket weavers.  Students will enjoy a fun, relaxed, atmosphere creating their 6 x 8-inch basket with rattan reed and hardwood push-in handles.  Fee includes reed and wood handle.  *Students need:  one yardstick, medium-sized scissors and screwdriver, absorbent dish towel, 10-12 clothespins with springs, pencil, paper weight such as a one-pound box of spaghetti.  

Basics of Acrylic Painting - Session I

In this six-week class students will gain a direction and basic understanding of the acrylic paint medium as well as the elementary principles of color, composition, perspective, contrast, focal point, and texture.  Using only primary colors and white (four total colors), students will learn to mix their own colors with the help of a color wheel.  In addition, students will learn how to identify the core components in a picture, how to break their painting into sections, and ultimately complete their own masterpiece by the end of the course.

How exciting you would like to learn the wonderfully creative craft/skill of sewing!  Join experienced seamstress, Loretto Thompson, who will open the door to this fun and functional world for you!  Learn sewing terms, tools of the trade, how to read, layout, and cut out patterns, and much more.  Choose your own project (prior approval required), which may include crafts, clothing, home decor, window treatments, costumes or toys.  Once you learn and practice the basics, with Loretto's help, you will get the chance to start your project (and hopefully complete it) by the end of your time together.

In this two-week session workshop students will be guided by skilled craftsman Glenn Wienke, to perfect their skill in the ancient craft of basket weaving.  Students will enjoy a fun, relaxed atmosphere while creating their 8 x 10 inch basket by integrating both color and woven patterns using naturally dyed reed in multiple widths.  

*Students will need:  One yardstick, medium-sized scissors and screwdriver, absorbent dish towel, 10-12 clothespins with springs, pencil, paper weight such as a one-pound box of spaghetti 

Hop Into Spring With Some Crafting

It's time to get out of the house and do some crafting!  Join JoAnn from ElmRose Creations and paint and assemble a wooden bunny and some wooden eggs for your yard.  The bunny is approximately 7 x 18" and the two eggs are approximately 6.5 x 8.5"  The bunny and eggs will be mounted onto a yard stick.  Once completed you can take them home and display them in your yard or given them as a gift.  Please wear old clothes.  All supplies are included.

Learn the Fun-damentals of Card Making

This is a group for anyone interested in learning how to create simple or more complex greeting cards for all occasions.  All skill levels are welcome.  We will be making three floral-themed cards that can be used for any occasion.  Participants will learn some secrets how to craft on a budge.  Kits will be provided that include all materials needed to complete the cards plus some extras to take home.
