Step-by-Step Novel Writing

with Gregory Austin

Calendar Sep 26, 2022 at 3 pm, runs for 6 weeks

Have you always dreamed of writing a book?  Is there an unfinished or unedited manuscript lying in a drawer?  What is your next (or first) step?  Throughout this six-part course, content writer, freelance developmental editor, and beta reader, Gregory Austin, will help you create an attention-grabbing opening, prop up a saggy middle, and keep readers rapt with anticipation until "The End".  At the Writing Lodge we believe in writing theory.  Everybody has a great idea, but those ideas will forever remain in the planning stages or in various incomplete drafts if not done correctly.  Sure, there are plenty of "finished" books out there that likely paid no heed to theory.  But this is your book.  Don't you want to make it the best book it can be?  Session 1:  Strong Beginnings - Hook your reader from page one.  Session 2:  Plotting & Templates - Make your story readable and meaningful.  Session 3:  Filling Out Saggy Middles - Sculpt your grand idea into the manuscript it's meant to be.  Session 4:  The Hero's Journey - An in-depth look into a masterful storytelling template.  Session 5:  Creating a Story Bible - Add depth and detail that turns good stories into great stories.  Session 6:  Endings & Editing - You've finished strong, now make it perfect.  This course is perfect for anybody ready to get into the serious nitty-gritty of novel writing.
