You are retiring but your money has to keep working!  You need to keep up with the uncertainties of longevity, inflation, and market risk.  The success of your retirement is not based on your assets, it is based on your income.  Having a consistent and reliable income stream to last throughout your life is the goal.  What are your sources of income?  How long will they last?  How long are you planning on living?  You don't want to be full of life and out of income.  What sources of income are guaranteed?  Remember you can't get a guaranteed income from a non-guaranteed source.  What does diversification really mean?  How many people plan on having more than 10 years of income?  Get ready for the next phase, it may last 30 years or longer.  Bring your spouse.
