Basics of Acrylic Painting - Session I
with Loretto Thompson

In this six-week class students will gain a direction and basic understanding of the acrylic paint medium as well as the elementary principles of color, composition, perspective, contrast, focal point, and texture. Using only primary colors and white (four total colors), students will learn to mix their own colors with the help of a color wheel. In addition, students will learn how to identify the core components in a picture, how to break their painting into sections, and ultimately complete their own masterpiece by the end of the course.
Sewing - You Can Sew in Six Weeks! - Session I
with Loretto Thompson

Learn the foundations of sewing from using the sewing machine, reading/cutting out sewing patterns, to completing a project. Small class size ensured one-on-one attention. Classes are Saturday mornings 9-11 at the Niagara Wheatfield Middle School. Bring your own machine or use one in the classroom.
Crochet Course - Beginners
with Venus Snyder

This crochet class is for beginners, those who just need a refresher or for someone who just need a little more hands-on lessons because the internet has given you conflicting information. You will learn all the basic stitches, how to combine them to make designs, how to read a pattern, and everything you need to get you started. You will complete beginner projects using all the basic stitches that will take you from beginner to confident crocheter.
Stained Glass for Beginners

Linda Leggett, talented artist and owner of Honeynutt Glass, will lead registrants in the creation of a beautiful suncatcher. Pieces will all be cut out and ground and you will learn to foil and solder them together! Registrants can choose from approximately 50 pre-cut suncatchers, including a Buffalo Bills logo. We supply everything you need to make your suncatcher so you can focus on your creativity!
Knitting for Beginners

This three-week beginners knitting class is for those who have never held knitting needles, but if you have and want a refresher we welcome you as well. You will learn the basics from casting on, the different stitches, and how to cast off from the knitting needles. Everything will be supplied for you to get started.
Ancient Craft of Basket Weaving

Join skilled craftsman Glenn Wienke, who will share his passion and skills on the ancient craft of basket weaving. Register for this two-session workshop, which is appropriate for beginners as well as more experienced basket weavers. Students will enjoy a fun, relaxed, atmosphere creating their 6 x 8-inch basket with rattan reed and hardwood push-in handles. Fee includes reed and wood handle. *Students need: one yardstick, medium-sized scissors and screwdriver, absorbent dish towel, 10-12 clothespins with springs, pencil, paper weight such as a one-pound box of spaghetti.
